We have our bot deployed on Whatsapp channel, at times what happens is it stops responding. Also at times it replies too late. This is strange, can you please le us know why does this happen?
Sorry to hear about that Ruchika, can you please confirm if you’re still facing the issue?
Adding Wasim from YM who is actively involved with the WhatsApp channel integration.
Hi Ruchika,
Can you please share some info so that I can help you overcome the challenge?
-
When exactly the bot stops responding(During Conversation/While initiating the conversation/In a specific step)?
-
Does the delay occurs on a specific step or for every step. Is there any timeout enabled for the step question?
Hi Wasim

So this particular thing happens when we try to initiate the conversation with the bot whether the user comes and talk to the bot for first time or tries to converse after a day.
-
The delay is not specific to any journey but majorly occurs for the Welcome journey and not steps.
Hi Ruchika,
From the above incidents, it seems like a container delete occurrence where the bot containers get deleted after a certain time period of inactivity. For Production bots the time-period is 24hrs, it means if there is no conversation being done on the bot for the past 24 hours the bot gets into a kind of sleep mode putting all the backend containers to rest. The moment a user sends a message(Hi, hello, etc.) the container gets created within 10-20 secs. You can view the same(container getting restarted) if you check the logs before sending a message after inactivity.
Let me know if this answers your query.
